I asked how much postage would be

  • It definitely does say that the seller can increase the postage by a reasonable amount somewhere on ebay because I've seen it. Maybe it's on one of the seller listing pages that you go through when you are listing an item?
Saying that, I wouldn't be happy with what happened and would expect the postage to be what was said to me in an email if I'd made the effort to get in touch with the seller.
I personally would probably just pay what they requested and remember to not use the seller again, it's such a small amount that it's not worth the hassle and possible neg in my opinion.

If the seller has made a mistake then he should contact Wig to say so, apologising for his error.
To just suddenly increase the postal costs above what was quoted without any explanation is just rude.
Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy. :p
  • gordon bennet, what a cheeky so and so - did you pay it?

Yes.. for different reasons... it was to replace a bike which had been stolen.. it was the week before Christmas... my son was buying it with his pocket money .. and it was a bargain even at £20. (on balance we decided we couldnt find a bike as good for less money to replace the one stolen) But I point blank refused to give feedback and I did report her to ebay.....

Thank you, recieved five minutes ago, usual Royal Mail damage (to boxes) but I'm NOT concerned about that. You lose marks for lack of communication but I will still give you a green because you were honest and fast.

Does this seem ok to you? To send as a confirmation of reciept of goods? The postage label said 4.52 pounds (first class) I would have been happy with second class if he had only communicated his mistake to me.

I don't want to say something like
"sorry you had to pay more postage...." because I tried to solve the postage riddle and he gave no communication, so it's not my fault.

After all that has been said and done I personally would not email the seller or leave feedback for this transaction. Its done and dusted now. You are under no obligation to let the seller know you have received the goods nor is it an absolute requirement for you to leave feedback.
"There are no pockets in a shroud..."
