BUT it's safe for you to vote against DM as no demutualisation recommended by management has ever failed to go through.
Thats because of the wording of the voting form and pains the board take to promote it.
If this plc monster MUST be created then at least I get something. Doesn't mean I agree with it though. But its better than disagreeing and getting nothing. Do you see?0 -

I'd hate you to disagree and get nothing. That would be unfair.0 -
plumb1 wrote:My advice is to forget about BS for a windfall if outside the top 10, and get £25 Steakholder pension funds with Mutual Insurance company's.
Bang £25 in them and forget. The max they can charge admin is 1% and the average yearly increase is 3%. So you never loose, and dont forget MR Gorden Brown also gives you 20%+ on the £25 investment.
Go for the likes of Weslylen,Royal London,NFU,LV, Royal Liver etc.
To late for Standard Life now(but 4 windfalls on the way to the Plumb household);)
Any tips on becoming a member at Royal London & Royal Liver. Really just want to open something with £100 and forget about the account, dont want to be paying into the account every month as I have other commitments.
I've already got Standard Life and LV covered off.0 -
Royal Liver I bagged for all the family with a £10 stakeholder pension each.illegitimi non carborundum0

What is mutuality worth at an equivalent mutual? Take Britannia, where the rates are generally no better than Northern Rock...if youre a granny with less than £500 savings there, you get nothing from their rubbish dividend/points scheme.
Generally, BS Directors have p1ssed away most of the value of the societies over the last five years trying to compete with the new boys on the block.....ING, Internet etc., and have high regulation costs to make it uneconomic to continue as a small mutual. But rather than throw in the towel and distribute whatever value is left, theyre determined to run into the ground, and wait for a bailout paying out a paltry £5 per member of similar.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Maybe it was £20 each....was a few years ago. Bargain either way. Wish I could suggest they put the cost of sending me annual updates into the pension instead of posting them out to me.illegitimi non carborundum0

Swap it across to the Newcastle Netsavings A/C - they've dropped the MOB down to £100 i think.0 -
