I would think that the vast majority of people would see that sending you the e-mail was an efficient, reasonable, and clear way of making you aware of the situation.
Perhaps it's just me but I would really worry about any company that decided, above an e-mail on such a standard issue, that it would be better to call and 1) hope there's an answer, 2) hope it's not a bad time to call, 3) hope that the person understands fully what is being said, 4) hope an argument about compensation based upon a legal obligation that never existed doesn't ensue.After posting about receiving an email to my MSE username/email from 'Money Expert' (note the use of ' '), I am now unable to post on MSE.
