Removing oil through the dipstick.
Options
Years ago (more than 15?) i remember seeing a machine at several petrol stations. It had a thin tube which you insert into the dipstick tube of the engine in your car and remove the engine oil. Basically it allows you to change the engine oil without the need to get under it to remove the sump plug. Not recommended because you should change the oil filter as well unless it is accessible from top of the engine.
Are these machines still in use nowadays? I am looking for one in the Nottingham area.

Very easy to do, a Pela oil extractor is what I use when I can't be bothered going underneath.

£30 for a pair of ramps and access underneath is much easier.0

Depends on the car. On my sump the sump bolt is at the lowest point when on ramps so it doesn't matter.0

It should be on level ground to fill it though.0 -
What happens to all the cr*p at the bottom of the sump? Get underneath!0

It stays there even when draining from the sump plug. Many sumps are drained from the side, not the bottom. This is why people have oil filters.0 -
The car actually belongs to my mate. He does not want to pay the garage to change the oil and filter this time. He also do not want to buy a ramp and tools to do a proper job. Did tell him that the tools are an investment and can be used again and again.
Did mention it to him that national tyre are doing an oil and filter change for £21. He said that was too much until i mentioned to him that it includes the oil and filter :mad:Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way
