thanks, ive just done the speed test. and this is what i got
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:-provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 5000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 6176 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 4579 kbps
unfortuanlty its all jargon to me, can some one help explaining it to me.much appreciated.
The above would suggest you're getting more than 1.8mb. What are you basing this '1.8mb' speed on that you stated to BT? Was this download speed of something from a website? From what you've posted you have the profile that would easily support BT Vision.0 -
I have a problem with Bt not with the broadband but im not getting into that, the original poster managed to cancel his contract before the agreed period and anyone who has a problem with a company would try and get themselves out.
expresso if i knew i had good results i wouldnt of posted on here.
thanks to the posters who have explained the speed test.0 -

This is not my post????
My connection speed is 1.8mb or less, I've tested it on Thinkbroadband speedtester and Speedtest.net at various times, I think its the distance I am from the exchange which is the problem. Although it could just be BT throttling.0 -

Sorry, hit the reply button without looking.
Could you run your details through the BT Speedtester as it'll give more of an idea of what speed you should be getting because if the profile doesn't match the speed then its more a case of a fault with the service as opposed to anything that cannot be fixed0 -

You don't have much grounds for cancellation given that the speed is advertised as 'up to' 8mb. So it could be anything between 0.5mb or higher. The OP got theres cancelled due to them taking out BT Vision which has a minimum requirement of 2mb.0
