Scam because they're paying basically for a cold call?
Anyone whose had problems should report them to Ofcom0 -

MarkyMarkD wrote:These are not eaxactly cold calls. As far as I have seen, they are all calls to people who've provided their details to the Telegraph Group and given permission for third party marketing calls.

As someone else has mentioned - Cornhill are breaking the rules by not checking with the TPS register. I'm registered and have been for a long time, but I still get called. One thing is for sure - I will never buy Cornhill insurance....0

i had a call from the same no 01454 201129 a couple of weeks ago, i answered phone, caller asked me if i was mr ....... i said yep, caller said this is cornhill insurance, i asked who gave them my phone no, reply was Leeds BS  ( we provide special car insurance deals for members of Leeds BS i was informed, i answered ill be taking the matter up with Leeds BS and put the phone down)
on taking the matter up with Leeds BS i was told they used to deal with cornhill but not at present, im currently waiting for Leeds BS to provide me with evidence of where i opted in for them to hand out my phone no.
( some building societies require opt in of marketing etc, others require people to opt out, in the case of Leeds BS application forms dont get filled in they key in details for account openings and print out the form to be signed.)0
