Thanks its not staining as such is just where to ends of the ladder rested on upvc, the plastic ends dont stop a ladder making marks. The marks are just dull where it rested on upvc is shiny

I have used this cleaner to get marks off upvc, not sure whether it would remove the type of staining you describe but it is not expensive so may be worth a try.

I use Whitening toothpaste on mine to get stains out then use Mer car polish. I wipe them down with just water now and because of the Polish its easier as marks just wipe off. I use Mer car polish twice a year and not had to use the toothpaste again on them.Been doing it years now and my neighbour mentioned how nice my windows sills look .

I bought some paint designed for upvc windows from a company on the web ipaintstore
It actually worked wonders , sent them an email , and they replyed back with all the details plus gave a 10yr guarantee.

We use Grease Lightning - Show Room Shine its car cleaner/wax.
First off clean them with water and dry, then polish with the showroom shine - they stay white for ages.
I also do the glass with it as well and also the shower cubicle as it leaves no marks or smears.

You don't need any specialist products, I use Asda's brand of Window & Glass Cleaner which costs the princely sum of 85p. It cleans age old nicotine stains, ingrained dirt, grease, & fingerprints from White PVC window frames, and brings them back to a sparkling white. A single bottle 500 ml is enough to do 2 full length window frames & a patio door frame and you'll still have some of the cleaner left over. It's a green liquid and contains a chemical too long to type, but which works brilliantly.

    I've used this: http://www.online-buildingproducts.co.uk/p/530127/wurth-solvent-cleaner.html

Bought some of the guy who did my double glazing and its worked a treat on some of my older windows.

To be honest the only time I';ve needed this stuff I just went to the local window supplier installer and asked for a bottle of solvent/cleaner, if it works for them etc.

It was dirt cheap and effective, and unlike wd40, which I think is a poor idea, or anything similar, it left no resisue:money:
