Ready grated low fat mozzarella, where?

I used to buy ready grated low fat mozzarella, but I can't remember where:o

Its not Asda or Waitrose, as I looked today.

I prefer the ready grated mozzarella as I find the other one in the bag in a ball with the milky stuff hard to spread thinly & it doesn't grate:rolleyes:

Anyone know where I bought it?

Iceland sell a ready grated mozzerella, I think it's £1.50 a bag. Or you can buy blocks of Danish mozzerella, that's the stuff that goes stringy on pizza and not the stuff that comes in brine - it'd probably be cheaper to do that and grate it yourself.

Its the low fat version of it I'm after.

Asda & Waitrose had grated normal, but not low fat.

    Thank you:D

So its Danish rather than the buffalo, I wonder why it was so different when grated.

The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

The balls of mozeralla can't be grated, but they can easily be diced finely with a knife, and I find this works very well when I'm topping dishes.

    Thanks.

I don't think that one is half fat though is it?

Its gotta be the half fat one.

I like it grated, because it goes further & you can use less, very PSE (pints saving expert:rotfl: ).

If you are having problems finding the low fat ready grated mozzarella here is a suggestion:buy any low fat mozzarella, freeze it, grate it yourself while it is still frozen then put it back into the freezer. To use it no need to defrost, just spread it on the pizza just before you are ready to cook it.

Grating frozen mozzarella is so easy and much cheaper than buying the ready grated stuff. The only thing you have to remember is to buy it in time to freeze it and to remove any water/brine it comes in before freezing it.

PS this is a tried and tested method...... have done it myself many times!
