can i point out the national trust memebership for the under 26 i think is real cheap .... the free car parking pays for itself, let alone free admission.

Don't sign up for it online as apparently the area in which you sign up to in person, gets a £50 odd added to their regional budget. So for example if you live around the Lake District like me, the national trust in that area will get money put in their pot.

I'm a member of the National Trust - I pay by direct debit £30.38 a year ; for 25 and under it's only £13.88 a year. Families is £54.75 per year.
I think it is amazing value for the fact that you get free entry to all National Trust properties and countryside and coastal areas - and when I go to them I realise I'm really glad that my money is going towards saving and maintaining some really beautiful places.
Just recently the National Trust managed to buy Wembury point in Devon near where I live and saved it from being ruined by developers. Hoorah! :T
  • Fantastic post - many thanks. I live near Hanbury Hall and have often wondered what its like - but not to the point where I would want to pay admission (I may not like it, LOL!). Now I can go for free so many thanks. No doubt I will use the tea room etc... so they will also get something out of it as well so everyones a winner. Great post!

You have to laugh, it's the NATIONAL trust, covers england, wales and NI, but not Scotland?

They really ought to rename themselves the some nation trust.

Great find - if your in the right nation
