I agree - keep checking for deals! It's worth the wait!biglugs wrote:Still there but the link doesn't seem to work. Use E-value code D-D09511a.
Not really a GREAT bargain though - we've had better deals out of Dell. This one is a bit limited in places (e.g. no speakers, no CD or DVD writer etc.)0 -
What companies are included in their Employee purchase program ?0

I've had a look at the Dell website, but can't seem to find many worth while offers. Does anyone have an value e codes that relate to some good offers? I need something like a 2.6 ghz machine with 17" tft.0

Your calculations are correct - £352 for a Celeron 2.66GHz with a 17" TFT screen. Not a bad deal really, if you don't need huge amounts of processing power. You will also need to buy a set of speakers (another £10-£15). My son has this exact machine and it's fine once I put a graphics card in for him to play games.
Not as good as the Dimension 5100 deal a few weeks ago but that was a definite misprice though.
As a matter of interest I bought this same spec machine with a 17" TFT screen a few weeks ago for £233, but I think that was a misprice as well? You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Please, is the a good machine to buy. I do not understand what 16xDVD=/RW Drive means compare to 48xCD-RW/DVD combo drive on some machine. Would be grateful if somebody could take the trouble to explain this to me. Am looking to replace my old computer and this Dell dimension 5100 interest me. It also comes with 56kmodem with Tiscali 1mb broadband. Is the modem built in as I do not wish to subscribe with them? Please help anybody. Thanks0

if theres no immeadiate rush , just hold out for a little while.
price errors occur quite frequently on dell it seems.
some are not honoured, but some are.
worth waiting if you can0 -
Does anybody know how to find packages with an option to remove the monitor from your purchase - apart from the one mentioned at the start of the topic all the other deals I have seen don't give you the chance to do this (or do you have to give them a call??)0
