Dell 5100 2.8GHz P4 £269 inc VAT and FREE p+p , w/o monitor

    Still there but the link doesn't seem to work. Use E-value code D-D09511a.

    Not really a GREAT bargain though - we've had better deals out of Dell. This one is a bit limited in places (e.g. no speakers, no CD or DVD writer etc.)
    You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.

    Agree with that, I just specced a similar PC with components from Scan.co.uk for around £280.

    CPU - £115
    Memory - £26
    Hard Disk - £37
    DVD Rom - £12
    Mouse and Keyboard - £10
    Case - £35
    Power supply - £15
    £30 for other bits I have forgotten.

    Bearing in mind to upgrade parts like memory or the DVD Rom is a lot cheaper at Scan, it is not awesome. Its not bad though.

    You appear to have forgotten an operating system - XPSP2 home £57 or pro £92
