IN10 on your licence, 6 points, big fine.
Then you'll have to replace the car you were driving, and you may be sued by the 3rd party.0 -
Why is the fine always less than the cost of insurance.??? This doesn't discourage people from taking the risk....whack up the fines IMHO.'Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship'. -Benjamin Franklin.0

Should be triple whatever the relevant insurance premium would be imo.
Plus some hefty admin fees of course!"I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

I asked a magistrate about this once, and she said that they were instructed not to levy fines so high that there was no realistic prospect of them ever being paid. Thus there is no point in fining some unemployed scumbag driving around uninsured in an old banger a couple of thousand pounds (which is what his premium is likely to be) when you know he won't pay it. Crush their cars, and they go out and steal another one. Really the only deterrent is a custodial sentence.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

What i did was wrong i already said that! Some of you didnt seem to read my entire posts....Im here to find out if anyone has been in a similar situation (i.e driving a vehicle uninsured and being involved in a crash which was the other driver's fault by Careless Driving) and could tell me what to expect
Let me remind some people again If we were to have done the short term insurance as we thought of, that wouldnt magically lifted my car in the air and avoided the collision. I was in the wrong though i know but she was in the wrong Big Time too
Im a responsible guy but Ive made a mistake..... I just hope that some of you will never be in a position of making some bad mistakes in life...but if you do you'll know there will be people there to judge you too.......
Thanks for the useful and helpful posts so far - ill look into that sarah cheers.0 -

you will fined most poeple do not like uninsured drivers because it cost us money or more has wellthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
I know this is VERY harsh, but what if you had hit someone who was left disabled for the rest of their lives. They WOULD NOT have been able to claim against your insurance company. What if they had children whom they needed to look after?
If you have/or don't have children you need to think very very seriously about driving again without insurance?
Actually I hope they ban you.0 -
Her insurance company will make mincemeat of you, you are an illegal driver why should they pay out!!0
