I recently introduced a friend to Sky and as a thank you i was offered a free Sky+ box - fantastic i thought. Just got a letter of confirmation and althouth the box is free there's an installation fee of £60!!! How can you advertise something a free when there's a £60 fee - outrageous....

It's the box that is free, the installation does still cost.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

The box is free though, so they aren't doing anything wrong I'm afraid.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

The offer was for a free box, not free box and free installation, did you expect someone to come out and fit it for you for nothing.0

If that was the case why wont they let you install it yourself. Sky = ripoffMy opinions are purely my own act on them at your own risk :think:0

A supermarket can advertise a packet of biscuits as being 33% extra free.
If you went in and just took the free biscuits, I think security might have something to say. The biscuits are free, but you have to pay something to get them.
Though in the whole I think they've been a little misleading to you if they didn't say you would have to pay installation.
[For what it's worth, I'd say Sky+ was worth £60.]0 -

The difference with your packet of biscuits is they state 'extra free' not 'free'.
Cajef I bet they wont supply the box without the installation, will be part of the terms and conditions. My opinions are purely my own act on them at your own risk :think:0
