Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

The PAYE is for the employees - I know the legal score on that one - if only I could turn the clock back and I'd never offer to do the books etc for him.
Is there any way of finding the money for this? Does he have access to cash you can utilise as a stop gap?Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I'm not sure but I 'think' the company has the money to pay the outstanding amounts - if that is the case then at least that will be something but there won't be alot left over afterwards.....to be honest I'm too scared of his reaction to ask, especially after tonights conversation.2014 Target;

I have just had a look at the website and it is a minefield..no wonder you have struggled. I think it will be in his best interests to get some proper advice, at least that way you will both know where you stand and you can move forwards.
I have kept books for my husband it was just him, but when it got to cars and petrol and wanting different stuff-i referred him to an accountant as i didn't want the responsibility. As it turns out he always accepted my figures and charged him a lot for a little, but at least it was a back up.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Well that's a start, he can't expect no teething troubles.
He probably had an inkling which is why he wanted to go over stuff. I think he was looking for a scapegoat, and that unfortunately was you.
Don't be sacred, just admit you were out of your depth. Nobody should apportion blame, and it is probably wise to put in the hands of accountants and somone who can do all the payroll stuff in future. If he has a few employees than it is always worth doing this for his own back up as well. He should take a bit of the responsibilty in this as it is his own company and ultimately he should know what goes on.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Oh thank you hunny for being on line....
I know this is something that hubby and I are going to have to work through and I know he is going to hate me for a long time to come. Sounds dramatic but I know what he was planning on doing in the relative near future.
I feel that I've thrown his aspirations away - the business has been going 8 years and he's never going to let me forget it - yes I know I haven't spent the money on me (well not entirely,lol!) but I know that I should have opened my mouth sooner.2014 Target;

I am off to bed now, well trying to..he snores a lot.
Hope you manage to get some sleep. Watch some mindless telly as number crunching in the middle of the night never works.
Hopefully whizzy tax experts will come along and help.
Good luck.

In this day and age, it is never certain about business.Expansions etc, are often put on hold.
My bro has a largish IT business, last year everything great, this year not so great as he does a lot of business with america and the dollar/pound scenario not good.
Things will improve, that is why God invented a business plan..a few hiccoughs don't mean you won't get there. I am sure it will be salvaged and you know i reckon it will be better, because he will be exactly aware of options and be planning for it.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hi mountain, and I hope you managed to get at least a little sleep last night.
Today may not be the easiest of days, but see it as the first step towards truly getting sorted - OH now knows what is what, and hopefully you can BOTH work towards getting things moving in the right direction TOGETHER.
Whatever happens, keep posting, and let us know how you are getting on xxxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
