Nope - and I doubt any regulated bank would get away with any such rule. Its products are intended to be halal, though, so you can be Muslim.

I doubt very much they intend you to eat any of their products. Maybe you mean it is a Shariah product?:D

Do you know if "basic" accounts like the Co-Op cashminder report monthly activity to CRAs?

Co-Op does report monthly. so do Natwest HSBC and RBS Halifax dont.

Although popular media use "halal" to refer to food which Muslims are allowed to eat, the word just means "lawful" - the jurisdiction being Sharia law. Any product may be halal (cool), or haraam (uncool), or mashbooh (IDK).

I usually don't have much good to say about banks, however I was very impressed with them last weekend. While on a weekend away in London I lost my wallet on the first night, cards everything gone.

I thought I was going to be stuck without any access to cash until I got home, but when I called the Ulsterbank lost and stolen line, they told me to go to an RBS or Natwest cashpoint and the lady gave me a number to put into the cash machine, and it gave me £300 without any card. (from my account obviously).

What a great facility to have.

Think you've just caught them out. Gone from running away from home at 19 to now 21 and talking themselves up big style. Probably unemployed and just repeating what others have written!:rotfl:

You are right, You can't have a Coutts credit card without being an investment customer with the bank.

I think I have seen this feature advertised, it seems fantastic. I wish that my bank (HSBC) would offer something like this. I dare say that if not for this facility your weekend would have been totally ruined.
