I have a nationwide cashbuilder passbook account, I am going to ask for it to be converted to the card account. they had or used to have, a small form to fill in then ask for a cashcard+ when it become available.

Are you sure they will be issuing a Visa debit card on the Cashbuilder account ? :snow_laug

I have a cashbuilder account (I can post a scan of the card if you want)

Natwest have visa debit cards for their savings account although RBS do not :footie:

Is there any difference functionality wise between the 57 card and the 43 card ?

Does the 43 card work at pay@pump for example ?

Dunno ? - Whats the easiest way to find out bearing in mind I don't have a car and don't have time to pester train conductors ? :santa2:

Funnily enough my Northern Rock card has never worked in Lidl and I only use debit cards when credit cards are not accepted

Yep, I called and asked all cashbuilder card account customers will be issued with a cashcard +

You are right it is rare, the only other one I knew was Nawest First Reserve.

I wonder why there's no information about that on the Nationwide site?

They have a card with their InvestDirect account too (although I closed mine a while ago and my Cashbuilder was next on the list to go) :D

I wonder whether is is easier for banks to issue VISA debit cards on all accounts rather than having LINK ATM cards on some , ATM only cards seem to be defunct :)
and I am unable to change my LINK ATM card PIN number at most bank ATMs although they are LINK members - no problem with VISA Debit PIN change/unlocking

Britannia and First Trust are examples :(

I suspect that the Britannia cashcard account will be an easy access route to a COOP visa debit card - as COOP issue VISA Debit cards on savings accounts eg Pathfinder
