Absolutely none, it's full! I'd have to move a card out if I ever did get that elusive Amex that I so badly want!

Well I really hope you do get it and once you do, please remember to share a pic!

Unfortunately in my reckless youth days I defaulted with them - Amex is well known for lifetime bans in these circumstances..

Is Amex will known for it? Do you have a source for this?

    Just curious......

Yes, if you search in Google for 'Amex Blacklist' - there are people who've tried decades after and still been declined with Amex stating 'according to our records etc etc'..

How difficult is the Diners Club card to get? I've been interested for a while due to the lounge access being a bargain for the annual fee charged, but not really known of anyone having one.

I've not had mine long - it took about two weeks from sending the app to getting the card and pin. They don't have an online application process yet - Diners is franchised and it moved from Citi to Affiniture in the UK and Ireland last year.

In terms of how difficult is it to get - well, not sure. Mine went through ok - I have an excellent credit history (defined by me, not Experian!).

Some on here have said before that chargecards are easier to get than credit cards as the balance has to be paid off each month.

Only thing to note is that the lounge access is free for now. Most other DC franchisees in the EU have started to either require a minimum annual spend (varies by country between 3,500-5,000 Euro) or limit the number of free visits per year.
It's fair to say lounge access is one of the most appealing aspects of having the DC card and I cane my lounge benefit that's for sure - the No1 lounges at Gatwick and Heathrow are very nice.

I like DC and the new franchisor (Discover) and new UK franchisee (Affiniture) both paid a hefty price for the brand so they are going to want to make it work - the recent partnership with Barclaycard Merchant Services will in time open up acceptance to a whole new range of untapped sellers in the Eurozone.

If you want any more info, DM me..

Out of interest, does an additional card holder get free lounge access as well?

Thanks for this, I might just send an app off and see how it goes - I think my history is good (negatives being recent accounts and a high available credit, so it depends how much weight they place on those I guess).

I'd read (on here I think) about the spend threshold in countries being introduced, it wouldn't surprise me to be fair, as I expect DC have to fork out for the lounge access, so they'll want some return. I fly fairly frequently though, so it would be beneficial as is, and even worth considering with a minimum spend (once weighed up against cashback, airmiles, hotel stays and the numerous other things my current deck of cards is offering).

Interesting you mention about partnership with BC and eurozone acceptance, it might be completely unrelated, but I was in Malta last week and noticed that almost everywhere accepted Diners!

Anyway, I know this is completely OT but I thought I'd ask rather than start a thread about Diners Club, since you had one!
