It's listed on the Chemist Direct website (click here) as a single tablet for £2.63
- oh, and you need an NHS prescription for it before you can order it!!
As for why it's not available on prescription, that's down to the cost - plus (according to my limited research, at least) it's not proven to be effective against hayfever. The makers are also targeting PCT's (Primary Care Trusts - i.e. hospitals) rather than GP's, so until it's more widely known/accepted it's gonna make a big dent in your summer budget
You would need a private prescription, not an NHS one - if you had an NHS prescription you would only pay £7.10 per prescription.
As Heather pointed out, PCTs are not hospitals, they are doctors/pharmacists/dentists etc. Hospitals are NHS trusts. Grazax is specialist use only - i.e. consultants.0 -
Thank you very much for all your information.
It really does work and I do hope it becomes available for N.H.S. perscription - until then we will be paying the fees!
He has had NO symptoms at all. Its been that good we have been checking the pollen index to see what the levels are. Even in high count days he is fine.
Grazax has really improved our family life for the better.:hello: Julie x0 -
Just looking at the Cetirizine, how do I know if these are 'non-drowsy'?

I have never claimed to have a connection with chemist-4-u, and nor would I want to be connected with them. I like speaking to patients and feel that patients benefit from having face-to- face contact with a pharmacist.
I am not going to post my registration number as I am posting under a pseudonym, but if you look at a few of my posts you'll see that I know what I'm talking about.0 -
not the cheapest, but the best by far eyedrops ive ever had are Potters Alleclear herbal things i swear by them, can get them in Boots.
cheap alternative to Haymax is vaseline, 79p for a tin, i stick it on the end of my nose and around my eyes (top of cheeks) and the pollen is supposed to stick to that rather than get in your eyes or up your nose

What's the difference between Beconase and Flixonase? I use the latter and find it works pretty well but looking at the article there's obviously a price difference!
Also does someone know the size of the Flixonase? Pretty certain the one I get on prescription is 150 sprays which works out cheaper then the £4.99 for 60 sprays mentioned in the article.
TIA.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
I get a hay fever injection from my doctor. As it has to be administered by a doctor its completely FREE. It last for 6 weeks so you don't have to bother with remembering to take a pill everyday. I've had it for the last 4 hay fever seasons and its worked a treat.:j0

I hope moneysaving pharmacist can answer a question for me.;)
Can you tell me how long it is likely to be before GRAZAX is available as an NHS prescription item please?
I read earlier in this thread that at the moment it costs ~£90 per month for this treatment and the price is prohibitive.
Thanks
