This is very dependent from place to place. For instantce, Orange has perfect coverage here (SE London) - but O2 is really bad with constant dropped calls, which is really annoying cos O2 do have some great deals for both PAYG and contracts.
Also worth pointing out that Orange do not allow you to have more than one offer on Pay As You Go - meaning you can not have BOTH the 3000 off peak texts & the free credit with topup offer, at the same time.
And even if you are topping up £50 a month it might be a good idea to get a contract!0
