orange.... better than o2?
As many people are ordering the free o2 genie cards I thought I would tell people this, I got a letter from orange today saying my text saver ran out and I quote, "3000 FREE evening and weekend texts per month..... top-up a total of £15 per month, and get a huge 3000 free texts, which you can use every evening between 7pm and 7am, and every weekend 7pm Friday and 7am Monday." see https://www.orange.co.uk/freetext for full details. This is 10 times the free messages o2 give per month and for only £5 extra and as many people work or are educated during the day they will only be texting evenings and weekends =]. Also if you, "use £10 in one week, we'll give you £5 extra free is quoted." Thanks for reading, hope you can benefit out of this and if this is the wrong board mods please move.

I've moved this over to the Mobile Phone board, as this info might be useful for people browsing the board for details about the best phone deals.

i would have to vote orange the best! text saver, free off peak messages, 30 free texts, 30 photo texts, 30 abroad texts ( see website for details ) the best signal coverage ( i live in a small village, im the only one in the house with continual network coverage ) good all rounder! :rotfl:Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.

What? Come again?
Orange is the crappest network there is. And since that French CEO left the company has gone to the dogs. o2 on the other hand is a much better co.0 -
How is that better, when your free texts are only available 7pm-7am?0

Does anyone have any info on the free £25 Orange credit when you put £50 on in one go?

It is better because most people work in the day and only start texting @ 7 it works all weekend aswel!"Well, we are a Christian country, it is an important part of our make-up and I don't see any reason to change." David Cameron0

What about to/from work, lunch hours, holidays, using it for business. The orange offer although more generous is restrictive to users who want to be able to send texts as and when they like.It also costs £5 a month more so if you are happy with 300 texts or less a month thats approx 9 a day adequate for the majority of users, i would suggest. o2 online is surely the better bet.
Also if you take up the Orange offer they move you to the new PAYG Tariff and you cant move back to an old one at a later date.
The 02 online sim is also more flexible as it allows you to change your tariiff every month if your calling/texting pattern changes.PF.0 -

A friend looked into the extra credit from Orange.
He only uses about £7 per month and thought if he put £50 on and got the extra £25 it would be good value;BUT
IT SEEMS THAT,ACCORDING TO THE SHOP HE WENT INTO, YOU HAVE TO USE THE EXTRA CREDIT UP DURING THE MONTH FOLLOWING THEM GIVING IT TO YOU - OR LOSE IT!!
That is excellent for a heavy user but no good if you are only a light user like my friend.0
