They don't have touchscreen ASAIK, which is a fairly big part of a decent GPS. It's a good price, however you could get a £200 palm + GPS for the same price...see the other thread above for more details

    Which thread is that SpaceCowboy?

Why is a touchscreen an important part of decent GPS if you can use buttons just as easily and avoid a mucky screen, which is what a lot of touchscreen users complain about.

And you can always get a PDA cheaper then a dedicated sat nav box. It's just about whether you just want the simplicity and convenience or not.

  • Great little gizmo !!!

I was surprised at how small it was when i opened the box and set it up straight away....

very easy to use follow on screen instuctions you cannot go wrong works perfectly fine and recalculates route if you make a mistake....

i have also used a Tom Tom and once it is set up there is no difference on the road.....

very happy with mine !!!!

Does anyone know how long the power lead is to the cig lighter? My car has the lighter in between the front seats - therefore if the device is on the windscreen, there's a way to go to the lighter without the lead being in the way. Unless I can attach it somewhere else nearer the lighter...

After reading this thread I have just purchased 2 of these units from Maplin, after a bit of digging on the web I have found this great site which lists Points of Interest like Tesco, Asda, Petrol stations, Etc.
