Well finally another update from me (its been a while). Both dogs have had their OPs, Dog 2 had final check up on Friday and is fine, Dog 1 had his stitches out yesterday and doesn't need to go back. Unfortunately 1 is due his annual booster next month and the other one is due in Oct, so not finnished with the Vets appointments just yet. have submitted an insturance claim for the one I can claim back on and just waiting on a reply from the Insurance company (may give them a Call tomorrow).

At a rough estimate the total vets bills for the last month come to £280.

Other expenses for this month have been £360 for deposits on 2 Holidays for next year and £195 to pay off October Holiday.

The aim for the next few months is spend nothing at all. lets see if we can manage it.

I also applied for an got the Halifax Clarity Rewards Card, have already spend my £300 for this month so just waiting for the 1st statement to be created and will hopefully soon recieve my first £5.

I was going to close my Barclaycard due to the reduction in cashback from this month, but unforunately have had fraud on the card in the last week and need to wait for this to be sorted before I can close it down.

Hopefully the rest of August will be a lot easier.

Very unhappy with Barclaycard still waiting for dispute forms to come through in the post for the Fraudulent transaction that have hit my account a week after the initial fraud took place (and the card being cancelled). I have now reduced the limit on the card in hope that protects me until this is sorted and I can cancel my account with them.

Do add they are also trying to sell me Identity Theft protection when ever I ring up about this Fraud.

The Fraudulent Transaction on my Barclay Card were credited back to my account and I have requested that the account is closed. Still waiting for comfirmation that this has been done though. Have had the first £5 reward credited to my Halifax Clarity rewards Card, and have almost spent £300 again for next months £5.

Pet Insurance Company paid up on the claim I made for the first dogs treatment so thats £80, back in the bank. Dispite this off set savings are still reducing, so interest on the mortgage will rise slightly. Still managing to pay into my ISA though which is good.

Home Insurance is due in October and more of the offset savings will be spent on that. Plus Dog 1's annual booster next week and dog 2's in October.

Our next Holiday is in just over 4 weeks, going to aim for a cheap week and try not to spend much money this time.

Just need to get everything stocked up for Christmas and reduce general spending if possible, but think new work clothes are needed unfortunately.

Very bad news from work yesterday, they are making up to 45 people redundant. Fingers crossed I won't be on this list, but this may be a warning for the future. The company seems to be changing direction in what its doing, and it looks like they may start closing down area's of the Business which don't fit into their new plan. Considering this paying off the mortgage will become even more important.

I've done a few quick sums, and taking into account savings, reducing mortgage payments and statutory redundancy pay we could manage for at least 8 months without me working. In reality this money would probably last us much longer as I'm sure I could cut back spending in other areas and would hopefully manage to get either a temping job or something part time low paid, until a better job came along.

So considering current situation at work, I will be more energies into the mortgage, savings and cutting back, than I have been. I will be reassing our spending over the next few months and hopefully will be in a position soon where we would have 12 months income in savings.

These are just initial thoughts, it will take a while to come up with a plan and to implement it.

Well, I'm afraid our mortgage is going to go backwards for a while, we're getting a new Bathroom, I've already pulled some of the money for it out of the mortgage account, and its currently sat in the offset savings account waiting for the credit card bill to come in. We chose and ordered the bathroom suite on Saturday and are waiting for a date for Installation and a quote for all the extra's Tiling, laying new floor and installing a Towel radiator, Still need to choose the Tiles, flooring, Towel radiator and all the other extras. Fingers crossed we can get a good deal on them. Hoping to get it all paid off as quickly as possible.

Well, date for Installation of the new Bathroom isn't till 14th March seems a long way off, but still a lot to do and buy before the plumbers come. We think we may have picked our tiles so will need to go and get them ordered in the next couple of week. have choosen a new extractor fan which we need to go and buy, but still have almost everything else to choose and buy which seems to be a difficult task.

The prices of tiles etc are a lot higher than expected its going to be a pricey Job, just trying to balance cost and look/quality and trying to get it all done to a strict budget (which we've already had to increase (we underestimated on a few things).

Also hate seening the mortgage going backwards so cutting all none bathroom related spending as much as possible. Unfortunately have 3 birthdays to pay for next month, plus Holiday 1 will be due for payment at the end of March.
