Decided to stay put with ScottishPower and Ebico for now, although Scottish Power still haven't managed to take the DD yet.

Very very unhappy today after to BOE rate cuts totally 2% Skipton have only cut their SVR by 0.5%, which means as I was on a capped rate with a 1% discount for 12 months, that i will now be paying 0.5% more in interest. How can they get a way with such a poor cut. Just glad I took the capped rate last year instead of the fixed as at least I've never had to pay upto the cap as yet, due to the decrease in interest rates. So I have saved some money I suppose. Unfortunately I'm now stuck with them for another 3 years.

Well slughtly better new now, it looks like the 1% discount hasn't run out as yet so from the 1st December I'll be paying 4.95%, but I get the feeling that this rate wil only last for one month at the most

Just updated MS money, been over spending again. Must keep better track of everything. So its going to be a bit tight over the next month or two, and still got a couple of gifts left to buy whoops.

Slight hicup on the Christmas present front as we'd ordered the last few presents from Zavvi using Virgin Credit card to get 10% discount. Unfortunately we got the email saying your order has been cancelled due to Entertainment Uk going into administration. Searched the net all night and we are now paying £4 more for ome of the items and ordered something different instead of another as we could not find a decent price for this anywhere. Now just need to keep fingers crossed that they come.

Well out of the three items reordered elsewhere 1 has been dispatched. After BOE rate decrease I'm praying that the building society pass it on (the full 1% would be nice this time). Also got my pension statement today. Quite unbelieveably its only upto 1 April, so don't know if its reduced any further. It states that if I retire at 60 my pension will be less that £6K per year. Will try and increase my contributions from next April. Mind you getting the Mortgage paid off early will hep as it will give me more time to save for retirement.

Hope that cut does come through and that you can build more money to support retirement. Not an easy time to gauge where to put it.

Well watching the news this morning Skipton are cutting their rate by 0.95%, (so just missing 1.55% of the last three cuts). I'm a little concerned that I got my pension statement was for the balance 8 months ago think its very bad that they get sent out that last.

Just been looking up a few things, my company pension age is 60, but my state pension (retirement age) is 67. Don't want to work till 60 never mind 67. Plus things could change by then and it could be 70 or higher. Need to work harder on Mortgage, Savings and Pension.
