Many a holiday was spent in a static caravan.

I just remember the uncomfortable "sofa" at the front, with the big window.

I've had one of those. Nothing wrong was a decent static caravan. better than a tent.

I was put off camping when I went to watch the sliverstone Grand Prix in 2000. It rained for 2 weeks leading up to the race, I was covered in mud by the time I got home.

groundsheets are usually sewn in these days which means less insects, can you tell I love camping? I totally understand if you don't but give it a try at a nice camp site with good showers and it might change your mind!

I think it's probably a case of one really bad experience, but imagine in the sunshine it could be fun

I remember last time I went we sat out in the sun having a bbq with some lovely wine (have plastic wine glasses not mugs) and it was really relaxing! I was of course covered in Avon Skin so soft as the scottish midges are murder!:p
