Thanks I hadn't realised but it's obvious when you point it out.:o:rolleyes:

"Anyway, I've emailed my accountant to try and find out what the rules are and if I glean any further information, I'll keep you posted (ED permitting )". Siganature of !!!!!! Here

This comes directly from a post made by Dithering Dad in post 14 on the following thread

OMG it's Dithering Dad. How could you do that to me? you WUM or is that a troll? Feral Indeed. ;-(

Sorry to dissapoint you, borntobefree, but !!!!!! Here is nothing to do with me, and this is the first time I've even been on this particular board. I've no idea why !!!!!! Here has copied such an innocuous piece of text from a question I made on the Pensions board (I have PMed him/her to ask) but the link seems to be ED Investor.

Whether !!!!!! Here has something against ED, or is ED's alter Ego or has something against me (though as I said in the PM - I've never run across him/her on MSE before), I don't know.

Seems a bit peculiar though that someone puts some of my text in their signature and suddenly you and ED are jumping to the conclusion that !!!!!! Here is me. I have to ask the question - if I did have an alter ego why would I paste some of my own text into the signature and give myself away?

Looks to me that there are some sad people on MSE who need to get a life. The OP asked a simple question about private education and all hell breaks loose, with people who have a political agendas (or is this the politics of envy?) making snide comments. ED Investor did the same on my simple question about company pensions on the Pension board.

I know one thing - I'll make damned sure that if ED Investor makes a sarcastic comment on any of my posts, I'll just damned well ignore it - I don't need all this crap, that's for sure!!

Maybe I am one of these sad people you are referring to:o:confused: And maybe this is a good point, because I feel like I've enterered Alice's Looking Glass and am now in Wonderland - nothing is quite as it seems. The wonders of the internet.

If people would stick to the topic being discussed rather than making insulting personal comments, accusing people of having multiple identities, and so on, then we would all be better off.

Hi a great post after the last thread :) but I am not quite sure about the figures. My daugther goes privately in Kent, and she is £9.5K pa for reception, rising to £11K by year 2. Then there is a leap of £13K in year 3.
I also agree (she has been there for nearly 2 years that prices to rise rapidly...we have just got September's prices :(

Meester has started a thread (above) for those who want to discuss the different ways of financing a private education. He started with a ball park figure of £134k per child from reception to the end of upper 6. The next poster came in with figures of £200k per child. So for the rest of us (well me:D) who'd like to actually discuss whether private education is worth that amount of money I thought we could now try again.

Personally, I do not think £134k - £200k for some GCSEs and a 3/4 A levels is value for money. I would rather give that amount of money (if I had it!) to my kids to buy a flat at 21. Both my kids are at state High Schools and doing great - so I just can't see that spending that sort of money would give them £150k to £200k worth of benefit.

    What do you think?

Well done BTBF, you got this thread topic to where you wanted it to be!!

I think it is worth it, as I have said soooooooooo many times now, it is not just for "some GCSEs and 3/4 A levels"

I personally do not think that spending a load of money on a holiday in the sun is worth it, but I do not feel the need to carry on about it! :D And no, I am not suggesting that you do, jsut making a point that people have different priorities.
