Every saving you make El brings that budget closer to meeting........it's the old "baby steps" philosophy thingy isn't it!

Hope you are at least resting, even if you are unable to sleep x

you are definitely right - and these are the things that all add up. Will see if I can monitor this and see how I go. I have decided I am going to take bus to work from now on - car parking is going up and the cost of fuel. It will take me longer and I will have to be more organised but it should be worth it - especially since next year OH will be working from home most of the time (so can't go in with her). Added bonus is that taking the bus involves at least 20 minutes walking in both directions so I get 40 minutes extra exercise a day!

    Hi El

Yes, I think he wrote a piece in his blog about when he was on holiday with the MSF, he motored for one week in the normal way, and for another week thinking really carefully about driving to save money - it made about a third difference, it was quite striking - hunt back through recent blogs and you should find it - good luck to you!

He must drive like an *absolute* nutter.

I tried the "drive like a boy racer" and "drive like a granny" and the difference for me is only 10% ~3mpg.

12 containers of curry - that is fantastic :j

Good luck on the weight loss ideas - I can't help there I'm afraid because I am the worlds best (or worst, depending on your point of view) yo-yo dieter! All I can say is make sure your head is in the right place or it just won't work......oh, and you obviously can't have any choccy or biscuits in the house, so bung 'em my way......just to keep temptation at bay......I am only trying to help you

Miz, I am also getting the bus to work where possible.......it really is a no-brainer! If OH is working in the city (as he is tomorrow) then we take the car, as he gets free parking, but otherwise, bus it is!
