Eerrm - what do you call a long walk?

I cn now easliy manage up to 9/10 miles in one day but struggle to keep it up for long.

This holiday I did 16 miles in one day which felt a great achievement but left me only fit for sitting under a tree for the next day....

So do you wear crocs to walk in? do they give you enough support? Do you wear solks with them?

Oh - and have you decided if and when and how to do the course and has your son heard anything?

    Is that snough questions?

it's a tad longer than 9 miles peb were going to do john o groats to lands end but we arnt going to do it for a nother 4 years approx so that will give us time to get in shape and raise the money needed

the crocs are for a change to be honest i think our feet will be needing a break from walking boots lol

your more than welcome to join the band it will be fun and we will be organising it between us ...a challenge of a life time

Okay - that is a fair walk (gulp). What sort of milage per day are you looking at then? I do have a friend who has done this but long before I knew her - I think she got a leave of absence from work....

    Any news from your son?

i think we are thinking about 25 miles perday over 6 weeks approxx nothing is set in stone at this time and we are just kinda chucking ideas into a pot at this stage have a good think about it ...it is going to be a challenge of a life time and something you are gonna be proud to have done ...your more than welcome to join in you would be a great help with the person you know that has done it already you can pick her brains

I think that 25 miles a day (day after day) could be over ambitious; just going by my reading. I remember Bill Bryson commenting that someone had attempted 20 plus ,miles a day and had burnt out after 5 days; it could of course be that the terrain is a lot easier here. I'll talk/e-mail my friend and see how she did it. I do know it was organised for a charity so that they had all the support teams to deal with clothing and taking them to accomodation etc.

Sons ! I would have though he would be anxious to know unless it is that he is scared that they will say "no" and is postponing hte agony...
