I really don't know, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt. I'm wondering if it was a genuine credit based refusal it's because he asked for too high a figure to start with. It's difficult to tell if it's a standard letter or not.

Looks like a standard letter to me, and I thought companies usually just gave a lower credit limit rather than turning people down cos they asked for too much - tho I guess with the 3.9 rate they might have a different model - may be it would have been different if we had not applied for bt as part of application?

Could be that I suppose - we will never know now, which is a pain!

Normally they don't give a reason; they just cite credit scoring and say there may not be one 'actual' reason but it could be a combination of things.

Sorry for dragging up such an old thread but I've just had my Lloyds TSB Card come through that replaces the Texacocard. Whilst on the phone to 'activate' the card I asked the woman to confirm what APR I was paying on the outstanding balance and she said it was 14.9% and she didn't know anything about the 3.9% rate that I was led to believe (from Martin's original post in this thread) should have been transferred across from the Texacocard.

Has anyone else got their new Lloyds TSB card and, if so, have you managed to confirm from anyone that your 3.9% rate still applies?

It looks like I'm going to have to apply for that Intelligent Finance card after all!

    Regards,

    Matt.

The payment for hubby's texaco card was due to be made on 22/06/06 but as yet it hasn't been taken.

Has anyone else noticed that either payment hasn't been taken either?

    Hi there

My payment usually comes out on 19th and I've just checked my bank account and it's come out today? I haven't contacted Lloyds at all - I've received the new card but haven't activated it as I don't plan to use it. Should I activate it anyway?
