Texaco withdraws Life of Balance Offer

  • The payment for hubby's texaco card was due to be made on 22/06/06 but as yet it hasn't been taken.

Has anyone else noticed that either payment hasn't been taken either?
Yes, this happened to my OH in the last few days too. Payment was meant to be taken on 21st, but hasn't. I noticed that the direct debt description has changed though - now shows Lloyds TSB card services (or similar)... but they still haven't taken payment. This could be just realigning statement and payment dates with the new account, or it could be a ploy to extend the term of the debt and hence charge more interest.

    Hi guys,

Have been speaking to Lloyds about this issue with the Texaco card, and can post a few details which should help clear it up.

First, they have again categorically confirmed that the 3.9% rate will be honoured for those who shifted their balance when that was the rate of the Texacocard.

The problem seems to be the old chestnut of lack of communication of info to call centre agents. The best practice is to wait for your next statement, where it should state that the rate on the existing debt is 3.9%. If you can't wait, call up customer services and emphasise that you got the old Texaco Card, and you want to know the existing balance transfer rate.

If anything seems to still be wrong after you have checked, post back on here, and we should be able to get your details onto Lloyds to sort it out.

I had a major moment this morning!!!!! I logged into my Lloydstsb account to find that I now apparently have a lloydstsb platinum mastercard. I thought I'd had my identity stolen.

It then took me 3 phone calls to find out that my Texaco card is now a Lloydstsb platinum card. Once my heart had stopped pounding I did confirm that the rate was still 3.9%.
