Hi, I'm pretty new to the OS board but have been having a look through over the last few days and I'm really keen on using cheaper, non-branded, more environmentally freindly products to do my cleaning such as vinegar, lemon juice, bicarb . I've done various seraches on MSE and other sites but I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone could help me with please...
    1. What is the best vinegar/ water ratio for general cleaning. I've found various but was thinking of trying 50/50.
    2. Should I add bicarb to the above solution for cleaning sinks, bath, toilets etc
    3. Does the solution last or is it one use only and then throw remainder away?
    4. Does vinegar really work added to a wash in place of fabric conditioner?

Sorry if these questions have been answered loads of times before and sorry if I've posted this in completely the wrong place!

I'm in awe of all of you who are organised with your cleaning and have a routine. I'd love to be in a position where I could join you but I think it may take a while. I have 2 x DS and the washing/ ironing alone keeps me busy! :o

    THANK YOU!!!

JillD- glad to see you are brighter. You mentioned cracked heels a while ago, I am having problems with mine and found this: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=497425

Johanne - buy the TD! I didn't have one till I had DS1 (DH bought it as a suprise present) but it really helped, means you don't need to buy as many clothes, so almost moneysaving.

Working hard this morning - at least until now. I have deep cleaned the hall including walls and skirtings, washed the dogs bedding (yuck), dysoned the ground floor, cleaned the DW and put it on again. Working on a level three for the kitchen next. DS2 getting a bit bored so we might go for a walk first.

I did clean the fish tank out last night, but it is still very green this morning. not sure the new filter is working at all. Brightening up now so we may get our half hour garden challenge which must include cleaning out the chickens.
Must do HHE as well as DH will be too late back for me to go for a run tonight.

Just updating what I've done on my last post.

    Quick question

When do you introduce pillows into LO's beds??? I know 'they' say duvets from 12 months but what about a pillow, I'm starting to wonder if DS is comfy enough.

    Thanks!

Tiddles has only just got a pillow and she is 3.5. She spends more time with her bum on it tham her head!!

My 1 carrier for freecycle has become 2.. FLING.. that'll teach them to be 5 minutes late!! lol.. they said they'd be here about 12:15.. lol

Tiddles has taken herself off to bed. I looked in the wardrobe and there are about 25 dresses I can ebay.. them the wardrobe remains should fit in my wardrobe so I can get rid of their rickety one in time to rebuild & decorate the room!

I've also got about 20 pairs of tap and ballet shoes to go on ebay.. *sigh*

Nicki - what tattoo are you getting?

A rose or a sword with a ribbon wrapped around it on my back near my shoulder blade. I'm going for there as its the least likely place to change shape as I loose weight :rotfl: I know what I want, its just a case of being able to draw it now. Fella said anywhere from £20 upwards for it so I'll have to save up for it anyway.

Johanne - you have alot to answer for, just bought that tumbledrier:p :rotfl::rotfl: Only been after one for erm.... 7 years. Getting it delivered Saturday :j:j Now I just need to work out where its going - kitchen or livingroom?
