Go for it. I admire your determination. I wish more were like you.
As for the general message in this thread -There is a distinct moral undertone on these forums these days where some are quick to judge, I would say too quick to judge. There is a big difference between people who can't pay money back who are looking for any way out, and those who can pay money back (including those who can do it with a struggle) looking for an easy way out. The problem is that we can't distinguish between the two with only a few words on a message board. I for one like to treat everyone who asks for help as deserving of it. There are a few obvious p*ss takers but I don't believe any of them have posted in this thread. In any event, I just ignore them. Why don't we all just do the same?

I love these threads, there's always one newbie who comes in shouting "I got loads of money back, they're great" in a sea of "they're scammers!" posts.

Morality aside, why is there a difference??
Why SHOULD there be a difference??
Where in the business World does a model exist which says, "as long as you work hard, your debts can be ignored"
If a business doesn't perform, it folds. People go bankrupt if they can't pay their debts.
How is it we end up with people thinking, "if the debt isn't your fault (unemployment, babies, injuries etc), you should not have to repay it.... only the people who are careless should repay it?"
I'm undecided which gives me more satisfaction...- Seeing these companies going to the wall for their false promises...
- Seeing people trying to wriggle out of repaying the money they spent being ripped off.

Why is there a difference?
I've no idea why, but there is a difference. I percieve people who are facing their problems as being more deserving of help than those who are looking for an easy option. To me that is the difference.
Why SHOULD there be a difference?
That question makes no sense other than as a philosophical whimsy. In legal terms there is no difference. Everyone, deserving or not, has an equal right in law to try to write off their debts. The ones I percieve as deserving I'll be routing for. And I start out by assuming everyone is deserving until they show me otherwise.

Quick update on my previous post..
I've now spoken in person to the Monitoring & Compliance Unit at the Ministry of Justice.
Although there is nothing they can do for me personally they have confirmed that they are aware of Buy Bye Credit & they are currently being investigated.
They also confirmed that I can make a claim against an individual rather than the company as a whole, providing that person (the director) lives at one of the addresses registered for the company.
Roy Melvin Slater (the managing director) appears to live (or at least is on the electoral role) at the same address as Buy Bye Credit's 'head office' - 202 Bradford Road... the one that bailiffs couldn't gain access to because it is vacant.
From speaking to other people, Buy Bye Credit are also associated with Watson's Solicitors in Llandudno - who operate their company in much the same manner.
[TEXT DELETED] is also still selling the services of Buy Bye Credit.0 -
I have also suffered the same fate as a few of the people posting above.
Took advice from my IFA despite usually applying the to good to be true rule.
Over confidence in the sales pitch has put me in the position of pursuing a claim with Buy Bye Credit. Looks like the samll claims court or proving that they are in breach of contract and claiming the money back via my Credit Card's Insurance's.
Have to say that the MOJ and the OFT have been very helpful pointing me in the right direction to get this resolved.
Tinkerbell4791 - Let me know how you get on, keep posting updates and keep up the hard work.

Yes sadly, he even visited their local office and met with one of their agents.
I will be discussing with him next week the return of his fee's... that should be fun.
For someone I should have been able to trust I was very badly let down.

Guys just for clarity
Watsons are not linked to BBC at all, they have been left in the same boat as everyone else,
promise of case funding which never materialised, files which were never transferred complete, incorrect information given out, Watsons cant be blamed for BBCs failings, sadly you dont see the inside story , if you did you would know that.
Thing is, the money that went to BBC never got passed on, so, how exactly do people expect to get their cases to court? would you expect a lawyer to pay out of his own pocket for your case to get it to trial? the costs of a court case can quickly exceed 1000 easy. this is not meant to be a criticisim, but merely trying to put both sides of the story to the table. BBC took your money, so the argument surely is with them not watsons for BBCs failings.
Tinkerbell, if you could care to contact me, i may be able to assist you as i have too been wronged by BBC0
