Apparently the newer games won't work unless you've upgraded the firmware. I read somewhere that GTA:LSS won't work unless you upgrade to 2.1.0 -

There is a nice program that fools the PSP into thinking it got the latest firmware so no problem there.
Youll have to search for it ;-)Hardcore moneysaver0 -

Just as an aside, if you're buying a PSP then you really also need to budget for a 1GB stick - around £65 - as the ability to save DVDs adds another dimension to the PSP.
Can anyone recommend the best 1GB stick to get? There seems to be a variation on speeds and prices.0 -
Morning All....it seems there has been a lot of news circulating about a possible virus affecting the PSP when trying to downgrade..so I just wanted to reassure anyone that wants it
No I believe this to be rubbish, and either a ploy by Sony or Symantec (and Sony) to stop people hacking their PSPs....Sony know how much it could cost them if people stop buying games, and are aware that if they can stop 90% of the people hacking their PSPs it will make a big difference...
So guys, dont be scared to downdgrade your machines, just make sure you go to a respectable website to obtain the hacking software.....I FIXED mine, the second I got it on Thursday mornig and it worked fine and still does now....and lets me play all my games from a memory card...so that wasy I dont have to carry my games around with me all the time...I can now also play NES and Megadrive games on it too....
If you look you'll find it

I second the above post. I recommend psphacks.net as a reputable source, and pspupdates.com seems ok too.
But people, please, realise that this should be used for homebrew apps and emulators only - piracy is very illegal, and wrong. If everyone stops buying games, sony will stop supporting the psp.Matched Betting and Casino Bagging Target: £3500 (Masters degree course fees)

There are some developers working on it at the moment. Bit of an awkward job to sort out by all accounts though - it involves changing the faceplate of the psp for the one supplied with the adapter.
see here: http://www.psp-vault.com/Article306.psp
Order it here from lik-sang:
