I have had people offering to sponsor me bigger amounts if I do all 26 miles of the Moonwalk doing the Moonwalk wearing a sparkly glove. Sadly I can't moonwalk or I would do it just for the extra fundraising potential

It is great, actually it is a bit like being on this forum, everyone is really friendly and supportive. I know what you mean about it taking up so much time but if you are doing that amount of walking you should be absolutely fine on the night.

    My hints are:
Try not to drink TOO much water, if you have to pee after about 18-20 miles you start siezing up (I feel really sorry for people who have their period) although of course make sure you remain hydrated
Take some ibuprofen or paracetamol with you and if anything starts to twinge then take some (with me it is my back that gets really painful and this really helps, i took some at about 22 miles last time and it gave me a new ease of life because my back wasn't nagging at me)

Sorry you didn't feel well, there are so many nasty lurgy things floating around at the moment aren't there. I had an evil cold/throat infection thing this week and am still feeling a bit rubbish, hopefully will be able to do the 15 miles tomorrow still though.

What parts of Edinburgh do you walk through? I love Edinburgh, it is such a beautiful city. My favourite part on the London one is the Houses of Parliament as the sun rises, absolutely stunning.

Thanks for the tips, it's my back that goes too so will definitely be stocked up on painkillers. Must admit to being slightly worried about peeing all the time :rotfl:

I'm not entirely sure what the route is, it starts and finishes in the Meadows, think it will be lovely when the sun starts coming up :)

Hope your cold clears up soon, dunno what's up with me today but I slept for about 3 hours this afternoon  Might give it another go tomorrow if I feel alright!

I think my sister is doing the Moonwalk - or something similar across the Sussex Downs in June. She is walking 40 miles:eek: , starting at midnight:eek: and stopping after 20 miles in the morning to change clothes if need be and have some breakfast. It's for one of the cancer charities.

Blimey  Good on her

Ellidee - I can't moonwalk either.. though I expect I'll be doing something fairly funny looking by the end of it :rotfl:

Cheers hun, my lurgy started with me needing to sleep all the time (I am normally totally insomniac so I always know something is wrong when I sleep well) I hope you haven't got what I have and that you feel better soon.

You should get your info booklet with the route in a couple of weeks along with your bra and t-shirt and really attractive baseball cap. If I can face carting my camera around with me on the night I might post a couple of 'London at dawn' pics on here the next day.

The food they give you before the walk (if it is anything like the London one) is really not very lovely, so I usually take my own snack too just in case.

I know - she has become quite hardcore over the last couple of years - she's cycled across Cuba and she and my sister cycled west to east Scotland, both for charity.

It all started about 5 years ago with a Race for Life and went on from there - she's now a member of a running club, has done a half marathon and does those awful, muddy looking hill runs you see on TV!!! She's mad!!!!

    But lovely ;)
