Hey poorandindenial - I noticed on another thread that you're training for the Moonwalk, are you doing London or Edinburgh? I'm doing the Edinburgh one, just starting to panic that it's only 8 weeks to go :eek:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Sorry for delay, was just doing a x-factor worthy rendition of Charlene, 'Never Been to Me'
London - only 4 weeks for me,:eek:
Am doing fifteen miles with my walking buddy tomorrow (only our fourth training walk - whoops) but am starting to brick it.
Have you done it before? I have done it either three or four times before (I can't actually remember they all merge into one :rotfl:)
How is your training going?£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

First time for me, is it as much fun as it looks?
Training going not too bad, managing three 4-5 mile walks during the week and a longer one most weekends, although was meant to do 16 miles today and had to come home early cos I didn't feel well  Finding it takes up a lot of time!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
This looks even more effective...

It is great, actually it is a bit like being on this forum, everyone is really friendly and supportive. I know what you mean about it taking up so much time but if you are doing that amount of walking you should be absolutely fine on the night.
My hints are:
Try not to drink TOO much water, if you have to pee after about 18-20 miles you start siezing up (I feel really sorry for people who have their period) although of course make sure you remain hydrated
Take some ibuprofen or paracetamol with you and if anything starts to twinge then take some (with me it is my back that gets really painful and this really helps, i took some at about 22 miles last time and it gave me a new ease of life because my back wasn't nagging at me)
Sorry you didn't feel well, there are so many nasty lurgy things floating around at the moment aren't there. I had an evil cold/throat infection thing this week and am still feeling a bit rubbish, hopefully will be able to do the 15 miles tomorrow still though.
What parts of Edinburgh do you walk through? I love Edinburgh, it is such a beautiful city. My favourite part on the London one is the Houses of Parliament as the sun rises, absolutely stunning.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

I think my sister is doing the Moonwalk - or something similar across the Sussex Downs in June. She is walking 40 miles:eek: , starting at midnight:eek: and stopping after 20 miles in the morning to change clothes if need be and have some breakfast. It's for one of the cancer charities.

OMG  - that is a different walk, sounds like a hardcore version of the Moonwalk (which is a mere 26.2 miles:eek:)
