Just had a quick chat with some people sat round me and we reckon that's not true. I'd check with your CAB and get proper advice from them.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Plusnet. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Their contract is quite specific.
If they increase their prices then you don't have to accept the increase, and can leave.
If you aren't happy about the increase you need to give them the usual 30 days notice, (during which they contract not to apply the increase), and can then leave. You need not complete your minimum period. If we and/or Virgin Media Payments increase our charges under these Terms and Conditions...... you may cancel those Services affected without penalty by giving us at least 30 days’ notice in writing
So you need to put it in writing (use recorded delivery) to:
Virgin Media,
PO Box 333,
Matrix Court,
Swansea.

Thank you for the replies. I *cannot believe* that the VM retention guy just lied like that. I read the contract myself and there is simply no way there could be any possible interpretation about some 10% nonsense.
They are so dumped!0 -
Hi,
I want to discontinue services from VM. I have a 6 month contract still pending. I am looking for a reason. I have received a extra £1 bill for not using ebills. They said they would revert this in the next bill and now I have registered for ebill. I guess there are no more price increases as well and can't blame it on the price increase.
I was thinking of putting the services on hold for £5 a month and returning the equipment. Later I would cancel the direct debit. It does not seem fair, but I guess, charging me £165 for disconnetion is also not fair ( I pay £20 a month). Would there be a problem for credit hostory, doing what I said ?

Cancelling DD without VM agreement [that is you just stop paying] may affect your credit history, as VM will obviously reckon you owe them money & are not paying it, ie you are are poor credit risk as you default on paymentsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

When I rang VM afew months back and wanted to change my package they said I couldnt as I was in a 12 month contract that they say I renewed when taking the V+ Box, I argued this on the phone and strongly advised them I had not signed any agreement and if they have renewed my contract I would be reporting it to OfCom, He quickly spoke to his manager and said "dont worry, we have made arragements and your services can be disconncted anytime and you are no longer within any contract, Im contract free anywayDELETE ACCOUNT.
NO LONGER WANTED
DELETE ACCOUNT
Due to certain users I no longer wish to use this forum0 -
They tried that on me, would'nt let me change my tv package unless i agreed to another 12 month contract. VM's customer service is awful, i will never go back to them.0
