Got my exam pass bonus today, bit of a kick in the teeth seeing how much the tax man/student loan company took...! Ah well, I guess its better than nothing! Its gone straight into my savings account to pay for my wedding dress

Payslip came through today, was depressing to see that I paid more in tax/NI/student loan this month than I used to earn 2 months ago
To think how much richer I would be if it wasn't for deductions.....! 0 -
I knew I had finally grown up when I started thinking about how much tax I paid!
Hopefully the loan deduction increase will mean its paid off sooner.:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -
Loan deductions should drop down to £20 once my wage goes back to normal (although only for the next 4 months).
OH managed to break his iPod yesterday whilst doing his last OT shift for the time being, he was saying how he would manage putting his music on his phone, but he is really into his music and the quality of the phones isn't great, so I decided to treat him to a new one, set me back £99 but will be coming out of his OT money. I can't expect him to work for 5 weeks running, and at one point 27 days running, and not have a treat!
Anyhow, thought I would update how my SOA is looking now after I have had my payrise:
My Income: £1,081.54
OH Income: £1,323.35
Total Income: £2,404.89
Outgoings
Monthly Commitments:
Barclays loan: £274.37
Egg Loan: £102.54
Halifax loan: £192.23
CC's: £100
Mortgage: 521.31
Council Tax: £83
Home Insurance: £29.88
Life insurance: £11.39
Sofas: £54.77
Sky: £19
Internet: £7.50
Mobile phones: £44
Water rates: £23.00
TV licence: £11.31
Gas: £22
Electric: £25
Shopping: £150
BT Phone bill: £16.50
Fuel: £80
Cosmetic treatment: £35
Weekly spends: £60
Total: £1,862.80
Surplus: £542.09
The loan balances are as follows:
Barclays: £8,863.06 (last payment Nov 2011)
Egg: £1,694.68 (last payment Feb 2010)
Halifax: £6,151.36 (last payment Nov 2010) (approx balance)
Card balances are:
Barclaycard: £700 (0% until Jan 09)
Halifax: £1,440 (0% until Dec 08)
Virgin: £2,630 (0% until Feb 09)
Savings: 1,993.01 (used to pay for wedding so don't want to touch)
Cut back in pretty every place we can (and want to), don't seem to have that surplus left at the end of the month, but trying our hardest at the minute, want to have at least £200 a month left to go in savings for wedding, and maybe an extra £100 off the cards so that we can at least clear the smallest one (Barclays) before it comes interest bearing!
Since I posted my last SOA my 2 store cards have been paid off, and I have got rid of my Tesco card as the promotional period ran out, but couldn't pay that off in hard cash so was transferred to my Virgin card at 0% instead.0
