  • Well the transfer between AOL and O2 went terribly, I wish we had not bothered, I know it has meant we will make a saving every month, however, we've been without the internet at home for a week now which is very frustrating as I use it quite a lot, and need it for work also. And now the phone line is down as well, I am sure that it will be something to do with the broadband, its too much of a coinsidence that it has all occured whilst o2 are messing up!

Must have spent hours on the phone to them, raising stress levels and yesterday couldn't ring free phone numbers from landline as it was dead so we had to use a mobile. Can check spend at any given point on mobiles internet and the calls ran upto £5 last night. Once we know who has caused the problem, they will be getting a complaint letter along with a copy of the mobile phone bill!

Had a bad week on the spending front as well, decided to get the garden done last weekend, cost was about £150 including skip & turf and everything else and have probably run the water meter up a bit by having to water it seen as we have had searing heat, although last few days have brought rain and we haven't had to get the hose pipe out!

Also been working long/late hours meaning that been eating out as can't be arsed to cook once we get in, so yet more spending!

Not had meeting at work yet about payrise/bonus/promotion etc, taking place next week, hoping it brings good news!
  • Sold my study texts last week seen as the exams are now out of the way and got £450!! As you can imagine, was over the moon with that, was expecting about £50!

Anyhow, its meant that I have now paid off my remaining store card, which was very satisfying. When the final statements come in showing nil, I will be ringing them up to cancel them and will never ever be getting a store card ever again! They are evil things.
  • Back online at home now! yay! Seems like its taken forever for the problems to be sorted. Good thing is that this o2 broadband is very very fast :)

So back to doing my surveys and comping, they have been neglected for a week or so!

Treated myself today to a weekend in London, got a 5* hotel for Travelodge prices and going to see a couple of shows. Cannot wait! Whilst its not going to be very cheap, its my treat for passing my exams.
  • Ohhh sounds like fun.

Interested in seeing how you get on with O2 Im with talktalk at the mo its fine when working but tech help is a nightmare.

    May 2013 new beginnings:j
  • Good thing about o2 is that they have 24 hour help line which is based in the UK, and its an 0800 number!

Had a chat with the powers that be at work today and my pay rise is not going to come as soon as I want it to, very disappointed with the outcome, feel like all my hard work has gone to waste, so going to be job hunting in the near future!
  • Just paid off one of my credit cards, albeit with a balance transfer from another, but keeps them all at 0% :)
  • Well, had a lot of thinking to do over the past few days and have turned down the opportunity to receive a large payrise by moving jobs. I thought my pay would go up straight away after passing my exams, yet I have to wait until January for the first rise (£6.5k) and then will get the rest in July (£7k). Initially I was very disappointed with this, but as its just a matter of timing, and there are lots of reasons why it would be better for me to stay with my current employer, I have decided thats what I shall do...

In other matters, for some reason had a council tax bill relating to the shared house my OH used to live in, why its been sent to our new house I don't know. Anyway, it says we owe £12.92 (which would normally be split 4 ways) but OH isn't bothered about chasing old house mates for money, but I am. Whilst it means that we only get £9.69 back from them, its more the principal of the thing, that money is better in our pocket than theirs. Anyway, I have asked him to contact them... if they send us the money, great, if they don't, at least we tried.

Managed to drop my BT direct debit, we were paying £36 a month as we were paying off an installation charge, but by my reckoning that should now be paid so they've managed to drop it down to £16.50 which I still feel is too much as we only have a couple of pounds worth of calls a month, not approx £5!

My TV license payments have also now reduced as I was paying for my first one over 5 months but now I am on the 12 month plan. Woo.
  • Had my Dorothy Perkins statement through yesterday, balance is now nil! Woo! Will be ringing GE up on Monday to cancel that and my Evans account. Will never use a storecard ever again.
  • Paid £33 off one of my cards this morning which means since I joined this site I have paid off over £1k on my credit cards alone :)
  • edit - I've been comping loads recently and am up for doing a comp ending list and just wanted to check I could do the URLs right!

    I think I am addicted!
