It is possible, albeit rather unlikely! I'd recommend trying to use different wireless signals and borrowing a friends router if at all possible.

Thanks for all the advise but most things suggested have already tried. Have asked neighbours to turn off telly but they refused to do so. They are not very neighbourley I'm afraid.

To be honest, if someone asked me to turn of my telly so they could use their internet connection, I'd probably have given a similar answer

I don't suppose it's possible for you to try using a different router to see if you have the same problem?

You could see if the tv is at fault by seeing what happens when you go on-line when the tv is off - if you still get the problem, then you know its not the tv.

I suppose my question is a general querie so I won't pm you. I am pipex customer, since tiscali took them over I am experiecing connection problems, the most annoying and recent is that although I can connect to the net it is taking an long time (if at all) to connect to various if not all sites, even more annoying my emails will not download into OE. This problem does not happen all the time and I log on at various times during the day,some times the problem is PM, today 24th april it is AM. It has just taken 26 mins to download a 3 kb email and then it would not finish so I gave up and shut down, this post has been made on a friends laptop via a wireless link from another supplier. Is it time to jump ship and find a new ISP as like many others I find Tiscali poor in every area.

Whilst it might be quite painful doing so, have you tried going to http://www.speedtest.net to try running a speed test?

It does sounds pretty bad though!

I have now in complete frustration at Pipex/Tiscali's lack of.........well anything really phoned them and requested a MAC code, they have lost yet another customer.
