Cars now have better handling, better brakes and are safer than they were when 70mph was set so why should it go any less.

that does not stop the idiots behind the wheel that cause accidents with there driving though

You might have a modern car with ABS and good handling but older cars still use the roads.
  • Lorry's should be banned from outside lanes and all cars should be forced to do at least 60mph

As said they also need to be far stricter on tail gaters and people who drive far too slow and cause tailbacks

These people cause accidents through frustration and general traffic congestion as much as speeders

The speed limits are fine as they are, it would cause more accidents if the limit was raised

If you are talking about motorways lorries (lorry's?) are banned from the outside lane.

The French have something right for once. 130km/h in the dry and 110 km/h in the rain.

speed is not an issue at rush hour!!

I think the worst thing you can do is tailgate, i see loads of bumps on the M6, a fair portion of them is people traveling to close.

I've been many a time stuck behind two lorries going up hill in the outside lane of a dual carriageway NSL road. The lorry in he outside lane inching on the lorry on the inside lane by an inch a minute.
