That is what most of the owners of these auction properties thought 2-3 years ago ...Could be made into lovely apartments though fc123...
We went to look around some apartments in an old shoe factory up here in Stafford and they were REALLY nice... had video entry phone, hardwired for i-net and sound all round... far too expensive for my liking though.
... it's a different world now.
And the world doesn't NEED any converted factories made into flats. There are too many already.0 -

Lot 56. A row of 3 freehold garages, development potential.
I see from the picture one's already turned into a home it seems.

Sold, £70,000. Not too shabby a price if you wanted to make a home for yourself out of them and got the permission. Seems comparable with a lot of just parking spaces in many areas for the last 10 years.0 -
also can someone post the result of number 72 as well, thats not to far from my mum and dads old house (they now live in singapore) and i think its really collapsing in bromley what to see if im right

I don't understand the sentiment.... can you explain?
Ok there are far too many flats around the place, but if the factory is no longer used for "factory things" is it better to leave it crumbling or build houses to house people....
I would rather them convert a derelict factory to save it from vandals than convert the countryside that surrounds my house.
Plus the more derelict factories the convert = greater supply of housing = meeting high demand for housing = drops in price.0 -
Sorry, being an avid 'Made in Uk' clothing designer, and having seen the skills and jobs lost in the industry I feel a bit sad. A lot of characters and skilled people have ended up in call centres or on the dole.when these places were killed off by cheaper imports/ chainstore Britain culture.Could be made into lovely apartments though fc123...

Mind you, if oil prices and China make things more expensive, then the home market may rejuvenate....all those repo new builds turned into workshops.0 -
