Are Amex cards harder to get accepted for than other general credit cards?
I have 3 credit cards, but I've changed my address alot in the last couple of years so wondering if applying for and Amex card is a waste of time?

You may get other answers but in my experience I would say yes, I have had more declines from them than any other.Best Regards,

Don't forget you can get £22.50 cashback if you apply for an AMEX card through the Greasypalm shopping site!

I just applied for one, having no missed payments or defaults on my record but having moved house quite a lot, and got a £2400 credit limit. So not sure what they lend based on but it can't be that harsh surely? Also they phoned me just to check I got the card OK and to see if I had any questions which I thought was a nice touch.
I have yet to try buying anything with it though...!0 -

This will seriously count against you getting credit.
The credit card providers always check the electoral role to confirm your address details.
I would advise anyone applying for credit of any form to get on the electoral BEFORE applying.
IMO it is more important than the odd missed payment or occasional breach of Credit Limit.

Moved last October, new job November, definitely on the electoral role by January, applied successfully in February - 3.3K limit.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

I have over £10K limit on mine, so they do give some high limits.
Obviously it's quite variable but I guess that's no suprise.
You can acheive good cashback with a small limit by continuously paying off your card.
I know that's a bit of a pain, but you can pay it off as often as you like, not jsut once a month.0 -
Lisyloo I don't think that's how it works - in their T&Cs they say they won't pay out cashback on any amount above the credit limit in any given month. So say you had a credit limit of £1000, but through paying off continuously spent £2000 in one month - you'd still only get cashback on the first £1000.0
