It may be a bit late, but should you do it again, then take the phone apart as far as you possibly can - both sides of the case off etc - and leave it apart for at least 24 hours before you put it back together again. Then fingers crossed you can put it back together again and it will be OK.
In Tips for drowned phone (which I started in similar circumstances) there is loads more info on how to clean it if it was something sticky or sweet you dropped it into.
Mine lived! Although there is an indicator on the battery which shows it was once drowned ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Daisy if all else fails i do believe some of the better phone shop suppliers that do repairs offer a phone bathing service at a cost but that is supposed to clean the phone of anything that may corrode the boards in them, hence it was faulty but now repaired worth looking into if the insurance fails or the phone does not work properly when fully dried out£2.00 savings club =£2.000

try the hairdryer treatment if all else fails. remive the facia of the phone, and hold a hairdryer roughly a foot away from the phone. not too close or else the heat could damage the components! also leaving it under a lamp also helps and speedens the drying process, again, not too close!
hope my first ever post helps

Mine sailed down a gutter after I dropped it in torrential rain (and too much alcohol
)
I didn't think anything about it at the time, like tissues and radiators, let alone hairdryers
No-one managed to text me for a couple of days, but the phone still worked!
And it really was drenched ...
But that was about 7 years ago

Thanks to everyone for your advice, much appreciated
The current situation is that it does seem to be drying out, but the screen is a bit mottled (still damp I think) and the keys a bit slow to respond (some only work after a few goes).
I haven't tried to use it yet, so don't know if I can still make calls/send texts
One thing, I cant see how to get the fascia off - but maybe it isn't as easy as some, as it is a Samsung slide front phone?I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Not sure where to post this but the title says it all really. Its not my day today. I have taken out the battery and the sim card and placed the whole lot on a towel and on the radiator. Would this work or is there anything else i can do?A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0

also the buttons wil probably fail as they will get contamination between the contacts.
best would be to get it stripped and ultrasonic cleaned although there is still no guarentees.0
