  • I am just about to send my 2nd letter for a PPI claim on a credit card then go to the Ombudsman, after Lloyds TSB came back saying they won't pay out.

They maintain that I was sent all the t's and c's and had a cooling off period. I didn;'t even know what PPi was and just signed the application and left the bank. They sent my agreement and it has a preticked box for PPI! Next to it, it says you need to tick to opt out of it. I was never told at the time what it was or that it was optional, but equally think I may have just not read the info they sent and cancelled in time. I stupidly (at 18) thought the PPI charges were just service charges for years until I rang up, questioned and cancelled it.

Do I still have a case?

I need some help please kind people :-) should I continue and take it to the ombudsman?

    Any help very much appreciated!

Hi Danny and not to worry.
I have a few against Lloyds and were sent exactly fob offs like you, same as most others here.

if you received your final response then hun then yes now complain to the FOS, if they stated that, this does not get them out of mis selling hun, so complain to the FOS, photocopy all correspondence you have from LLoyds.;)

Do you want me to post you the link for the FOS hun (complaints form) ?

Just came back in from editing, Danny here is the link for the FOS anyway. Form on that link.

  • Can I claim for mis-sold PPI if I applied for a loan on-line? I don't remember any questions about a PPI and I certainly had no one call me. All I got was the form to sign and send back, I deffo didn't tick any boxes.

Same with my credit card, when I opened my first direct bank account I was offered a credit card, but again do not remember any talk about the PPI.

Would this effect how the template letter would be worded?

Any help to a struggling single mum would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Sue

    Hi there Sue
When did you take these out ?
We can guide you from here, it is likely you were mis sold and do you remember the actual name of the company ?;)

(I tell most of the newbies to refresh the page to make sure you do not miss out on replies):D .

Yes hun you could write to them or even email them, there should be an email contact on your letter, they will pass this on to the main department who deals with fast tracking.;)

I would explain that you are finding it a struggle financially, finding difficult to make ends meet.
If you have a family to cater for mention them, especially children, yet it does not matter if you have kids or not, but just tell them that you would appreciate it if your complaint could be fast tracked due to your financial circumstances.
If you post a letter to them also enclose any documents (copies) of what you may think that will help, a bank statement says it all really.;)

I would add, I am enclosing a copy of my recent bank statement as evidence to my struggling at this time.;)

You are doing well hunni - do not worry.:D
