The spokesman said the FOS was particularly worried that banks and other organisations in the financial services industry were failing to deal with initial PPI complaints properly.
"We are particularly concerned that firms should have a very good idea of how we deal with unresolved complaints but they are still coming through," he said.
"The complaints are so similar to those we have already settled in consumers' favour that we are worried that firms are not learning the lessons from this and are not treating customers fairly," he added.
I'm starting to feel a bit excited about this!!!!
They don't treat customers fairly as well. Look at what a runaround most of us have had with these companies. Like everyone has got time for this. I think that they should be able to impose fines (payable to the consumer) if they don't comply with the complaint procedure in the correct manner. (Like Co-op did with me;) )
I think that the FSA rulings should be all complaints of single premiums regardless of age. Now that would be nice.:D
Companies should get fined if they don't treat customer fair just for that very reason alone.
Co-op told me when i asked for copy agreements that they could not see any PPI added - yeah right - was that fair. They expected me to give up the chase then and infact that reason gave me reason to fight for this more. They lied and misled just like they do over the PPI. I just want to win now and then write back to them "I'm sorry this is not the outcome you expected". Just like they did to me.0 -

It looks interesting - I will need to look at it over the weekend perhaps - then we could post the questions on here and get everyone to help fill it in - and send it under a mass protest!!! I'm all for an uprising!!!:DDEBT free:j0

Seriously now, I have nothing against Banks/Lenders etc. We all need them but we thought we could put our trust into them and at a time when we really needed help as most of us needed loans we were taken advantage of. Thats the bit i can't understand. They owed us a duty and most of us respected these people but i must admit i have lost most respect for them now.
I bank with the co-op now and have done for 15 years and i hope that this complaint against them does not give me trouble with my future banking. I am not asking for anything other than what is right, proper and fair in my eyes and expect to be treated right, proper and fair in the future.0 -

Had a loan with Halifax for £12000- only found out that £2400 was for ppi by chance, the added it and i didnt have a clue, have been paying this loan off for years now!!
Sent them a letter advising i have no idea about this, they wrote back and said we will refund the amount - Result....
However, because my account is still in arrears, instead of giving it back to me like they said they would (in their letter they said 'without any admission to liability, we will put you back in the same postion had you not taken the loan out in the first place)they also agreed to pay the interest which was £800 and then on top of this they would also refund 8% interest as per FSO rules. I was so happy about this, it could not have come at a better time either as i need to move out so it would be a deposit on a flat!!
However, without advising me, they decided to deducted this off the balance i still owed them! The cheek-I spoke to the FSO and they advised that they could not do this and that it was ultimately up to me how i would choose to use the money.
I have now sent them another email to ask them to put it right and refund me via cheque or put the balance into my bank account.
That money would be really helpful so i am going to push for this. Surely they can not just reduce the balance?? Can they?? Without consulting me??
Have now got the MD's email address hehe!! Let me know if anyone wants it... I find it usually helpos if you go to the top dog in teh first instance, rather than speaking to different monkeys...lol. You get a really quick response too..
positive isnt it?0 -

Why don't banks offer cheaper alternatives too - mind you they wouldn't make as much money then from naive individuals that have problems with debt in the first place.
