Hi, I am new to the site, but have picked so much information up by reading all your posts - Thank you.
I am just about to send my 1st letter claiming back the PPI for a loan from GE I have just paid off. I took a 10 year secured loan out 2 years ago but have been able to pay it off recently due to a house move, in the settlement figure there was the amount of the PPI, the amount of the outstanding loan, a £150.00 early repayment fee (was in the original contract) & a fee of £200.00 for security. Nowhere in the contract or paperwork is this charge mentioned am I within my rights to claim this back
thank you in advance.Lose Weight 24 proud member0 -
GE are well known for having incorrect documentation.
I have had a response from Martin today that he is looking into the firm that I have been harping on about so hopefully we will get his take on this shortly.
If your documentation is incorrect then you could be due more back than just the PPI refund. You need to get someone to look at the agreement and do a forensic audit on your account and ensure that you get back everything that you are due - not just part of it which is what is happening with a lot of people who have just claimed PPI refunds.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Just read your post about the rodent problem at Nat West , ROFL.:rotfl:
What will they come out with next!!!!That certainly made me chuckle, cant get more careful than that! :rotfl:
Have they taken longer than 40 days? I have a complaint with the info commissioner as Lloyds ignoring my request for another loan document but have not heard a thing in 2 months, even when I emailed them. Hope they send you your stuff soon.
If your docs have little teeth marks in, have a real good look as I would not put it past them to have a nibble to back up their story
Got COPIES of my paperwork today, so within the 40 day period.
Surprisingly there are no teeth marks showing on them.
thinking about it though, the words were chosen carefully. They did not state that rats had gnawed through the paperwork, they stated that the paperwork had been destroyed as a result of a rodent problem. This could be a number of different things.0 -
The FOS will have to send a request to the company that you are complaining against and they will have to review the file and investigate, which may require further information being provided.
Therefore it would be reasonable to expect a holding letter saying that the complaint has been received, we will investigate. They may send out further holding letters stating that they are investigating.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I've just received a letter from the abbey (cahoot loan) saying they're investigating my case and it could be 4 weeks before they get back to me as they want to investigate it and if there is any delay they'll let me know
should I sit back and wait to see if I hear anything within 4 weeks or should I be sending another letter off?
Thanks
Hi jonnypb
I suggest you wait, as that is what Freedom Finance wrote to me. 28 days isn't all that long really. FF did write back before the 28 days and stated they were still looking into the matter, as they wanted to make a full investigation. I suppose you have to let them "appear" to be doing their bit. Hope this helps.0
