  • I have a complaint about Black Horse Finance.
Its been going on since Sept 07 and still no result.

I know the ombudsman is overwhelmed but this is a bit much.
Whats the normal time limit for these things, anyone know?

Hi yep it was taken out with Sainsburys over the phone. When I settled the loan they said I could pay less as I just missed the month before's payment and they thought I was having payment difficulties. But they offered to do this and I obviously accepted. This shouldn't really affect how much I get back in PPI because then I am effectively paying them back.

    Thanks hun let me know

    Hey hun

I dont really understand this. I have complained and asked for my PPI back and they agreed but instead of the £1000 i am owed they sent me a cheque for £200.

    Thanks

Hi there I agree how annoying this can be.
Mine had taken up to a year for the final decision and the money was paid out just after.
The time limits on these can vary, and it can also depend on how complex this is.

However, send them an email or give them a ring now and again, they will be able to update you on what stage their at now.

    Good luck.;)

I was just thinking about this now, please can you tell me if they had told you they agreed to refund you £1000 over the phone, because if you write to them and mention this and tell them you are not happy with this only receiving £200 of this, I would ask them for a breakdown in this and also for a transcript of the telephone calls, if this was recent they had said this then these calls should be recorded, and this may make them move on with this and pay out the rest of what they owe you.;)

    Hi

I have just spoken to their redress department (the people who work out the final amount owed) and was basically told that whe I was given the lower figure to settle (when they thought I couldnt afford my repayments) they included my PPI refund in that. Thats why I was only given the £200.

But when they told me that they will reduce the payment if I settle it there and then I was not told at all that my PPI would go towards this otherwise I would have just continued to pay it monthly. Should I take it to the ombudsmand saying that I was was not told this?

    Hi hun
I find this rather baffling myself...... , so even though Tiggrae would probably advise you here better than me, have you anything in writing to confirm this ?
You have something to show the FOS if it comes to that stage.;)

    Hi

No they never sent me anything to say that they were using my PPi payments against the so called discount.

This is really doing my brain in now I just feel like giving up.

    Thanks

Okay hun, no worries, we will try and work this out.;)

Write a letter or if not request for a SAR which is a Subject access request, although this costs £10 they must supply you with ALL the information they have on you, this includes everything, even recorded calls should be one of them, they should also send with this the calculations of how they worked this out and MUST comply within 40 days deadline.
Not unless of course they will supply any of this information free of charge.

I would get writing to them and request for a copy of the breakdown, the agreement if you no longer have this and recordings disc of all calls, if they do not supply this to you within say 7 days from your request then I think maybe you should request a SAR.

We can then work it out what is what and how they calculated this ppi and see what they should have really paid back to you.;)

If you need a copy of a SAR template hun, let us know.;)
Please send any correspondence by recorded delivery, this way we will know when it reaches them, they cannot deny this then.
