    Cheers m.colak,
How do you know all this stuff? It's like a minefield. Do you think I'm right to pursue for the extra £30.26 statutory interest?

Majority i've learnt through reclaiming and help from members earlier on when this thread just started. The without prejudiced part comes from the Bank charges reclaim from when you only received a partial offer. Do i think you're right claiming back statutory interest YES. But again this is all personnel choice throughout this.

I have only two PPI claims left out of five. One with the Halifax which is at court or in the court process at the moment and the other is with Black Horse which is with the FOS. All i suggest is if you discover anything of any help to anyone whether it whens your at court or documentation you discover post it on the thread so every benefits.

I also at the moment am near the end (hopefully finish it today only started it last night) of creating a finance calculator which works out the PPI payments interest/loss due to bad settlement figures etc so if you know anybody whom would like to trial it prior to me sending it to martin for approval let me know.

    Will do
Once again thanks for the help, I'm just at the beginning of reclaiming from Freedom Finance, just about to send off for my SAR, but from reading the posts on this thread it looks like a daunting task, with hurdles put in every step of the way from FF, so if you don't mind I will probably be calling on your knowledge in the near (hopefully) future.

Good luck with your reclaiming for your last 2 PPI's.

    Hi M Colak

I have been reading this thread with great interest, having built up my 'reclaiming courage' thru credit card reclaiming.
My OH had (I cancelled them last year) PPI with MBNA, FD, and Barclaycard for many years. In 1999 he claimed on those he had at the time, because he became unemployed due to an accident. He has since become self employed.
Now, I think that a) the policies then became invalid because of his change in employment status and b) he would now have a predisposing condition that would also make a claim not possible.
Because of these issues the wonderful templates Martin has provided us with are not suitable and I need to get creative, but am still not sure I can claim.
Any views/opinions/advice/comments, as always greatly received.
    Thanks

    Hi red,

Ok a change in your personnel circumstances aren't unfortunately the banks remit unless you inform them and they tell you that the policy is still valid else you may have to refinance. Another problem is if you have claimed on a PPI policy then you have already used it too your benefit and therefore can't reclaim.

SO if you have any of these policies which would not have be valid at the time of taking them out then yes you can reclaim however not as i said if you used them or if your circumstances have changed recently and you haven't informed the bank and they are happy with the change in circumstances. Sorry bad news i know. Is that what you were looking at?

Stop press just had a thought. If you or your partner hasn't claimed on the product at all he might be intitled to a rebate/refund of the PPI if it is no longer valid with the change in circumstances under the FSA regulations into refunds policies.

    wow this is great! Thanks

Should have said too that the PPI is for credit cards not loans.

He of course cant remember what they asked/ he told them after the 1 year claim period, but surely, according to my thinking, they should have just been cancelled because it would never be possible to claim again - therefore paying money for nowt!

Actually common mis conception you can claim on the Insurance if required as many times as you need too. If the company were happy with the change in circumstances then in the case of credit cards where you are paying multiple premiums yes you can reclaim due to the fact that the product should have been investigated again when you informed them on the change and the PPI should have been cancelled. You will probably only be able to claim from the date of the phone in reference to the change in circumstances. However you need to prove that the phone call was taken and notes were taken hence the SAR.

Awh right, so I should have asked for this info when claiming back statements to work out charges! Assuming I now need to send another £10!
Knowing my DH he probably didn't contact them when the claim period ended - thus I would imagine that he didnt tell them he was now self employed etc etc - but yes I see the need for SAR.
Thank you so much for your assistance and clarity.
