I wrote to Barclaycard in feb 2008 requesting a refund of my ppi as I hadnt realised it was on my account.- they said no and it was there as a benefit for me and it was upto me to take advantage of it when it was required.

originally I was approached by a rep at a shopping centre promoting barclaycard.I think it was 0% balance transfers
it was in the january sales 2004 and my little boy was 2yrs old.
so I said sorry but I cant stop and was just going to take the form off her just to get off my back but she was pushy and said she would fill the form out
so the girl filled the form in and I just signed it,
I thought nothing of it then in march 2004 I got a phone call from the fraud dept at Barclaycard asking if I had recieved the card.
I didnt have any correspondence from them at all not even to say I had been accepted.
the police became involved and it was tracked down to my new postman who had intercepted the post and spent 2 grand on the card.
Barclaycard cleared it so there was nothing to pay.
I have used the card over the last 4years and cleared it 3 times plus have had a few late payments ,they did reduce the credit on it too but sometimes after adding the interest PPI then more interest then charges it took me over my limit and I would get charged again for being over limit and the minimum payment didnt clear it- very frustrating
so ....
I am wanting some help to draft a 2nd letter asking for the PPI payments can anyone help?
This what I have written so far but I am hoping someone can work their magic on it to put some meat in it for me

I am writing in response to your letter, with regards the insurance sold with my credit card.

Originally I was approached by a representative in a shopping centre- McArthur Glen at York who filled in the form for me so I just signed it.
I did have my 2 year old child at the time with me in the busy shopping centre so he was my main concern at the time as I was just going to take the application form home with me but I felt I was pushed into filling it in at that moment.

Also I did not receive any notification of my new account as my new postman intercepted all the correspondence from you and you will note from my account history he with drew cash from the cash point it wasn’t until the fraud dept at Barclaycard contacted me did I know anything about my credit card account had been approved. The police were involved and eventually the matter was resolved.

I do not feel your letter has offered a satisfactory justification that my policy was sold fairly, reasonably and within my best interests so I request that you look into my complaint again. If I do not receive a more favorable response within 14 days I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

Hi anyone out there. my case is with the FOS, i have 5 loans, 3 of which were paid off early, and also a mortgage which i paid off early again, never realising i was paying still. Anyhow my case is with the FOS, and they said the case was officially opened from 17 jan 08. How much more longer am i going to have to wait? has anyone had a claim in the same time as me? have they heard anything? it is becoming a bit frustrating now, and guess im getting a bit impatient

do you have an adjudicator or you could email them I think Di has an email for the FOS this might give them a nudge to get things moving it took 6months for us but it can take upto 9months.
shout if you need anymore info

If you need to email the FOS I do have a contact for the caseworker dept, they may be able to guide you from here or even pass on the email details of your adjudicator if you have one of these by now.

casework.support@financial-ombudsman.org.uk

Don't forget to add the reference number you have on your paperwork for each of your complaints, this way it will be more of a help to the caseworker.;)

Good luck and hope you get some good news.

Hi there Busta
;)

Yes I know it can be very frustrating, and because there are so many complaints, they are over-run by them.

I do not want to dishearten you but mine had taken over a year from start to finish but my case was very complex, hopefully you should hear something very soon, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.;)

Keep us posted hun.

If you are experiencing any hardship or on benefits or anything like that then they can consider you for the fast track system.
