Hi there - the words on the statement are Payment Protection
I don't remember ever requesting this but it seems I have it on at least 5 of my CC cards (some of which I have had for years) would be grateful for some help on claiming it back - Is this the same as reclaiming bank fees and is on hold with the courts ? many thanks

    Hi hun

Yes go for it, it seems they have added this without your knowledge, so you need to try and reclaim these back.;)

If you look at the top of this page there is a part where it states RECLAIM £1,000s, click on that and there is templates regarding mis selling of PPI, this would be different to reclaiming bank fees etc.
You can actually download and save the template.;)

Check out the templates for ppi, delete what does not occur to you and also add a bit about you were not aware this was optional, and this was not explained to you.

I would add the account numbers on your letter of every Credit Card of where you note this insurance product was added.

I also mentioned on my letter that I assumed it was all part of the agreement, because then I did think that.

When you receive a response from these, you may get a standard fob off letter denying they mis sold, but don't let that put you off because there are further routes to take from here, but lets get this letter reclaim out of the way first then concentrate on other issues after you recieve the response.

Hopefully they will uphold and refund you.;)

Let us know how you go and of course if you need further info/advice just yell and one of us will be happy to help.;)

Just thought I would add this before calling it a night.;)

Going by the information regarding Liverpool Victoria, which states they will be automatically refunding the interest on PPI for their customers who had taken this as from Jan 05 to Jan 2008, what about customers who were mis sold this prior to those dates ?

I suppose if they believe they were mis sold before these dates stated they would have to try to reclaim this themselves ? am I correct ?

I had reclaimed mine with these a few months back and of course this was before knowing that this company were fined for mis selling, as mine was in 2003.

For those of you who had these products and believe you were mis sold by LV before these dates stated I would try to pursue these, I did and it had only taken approx 3 weeks from start to finish.;)

    Good luck.

Just thought I would post an update on my situation.

I decided to send in my letter to Tesco Finace about being mis-sold the PPI. I have received a letter back saying that my claim for being mis-sold in being investigated and I will hear from their PPI cunstomer Concerns Team in the next 5 days to confirm recipt of my complaint. They have until the 23rd of September to reach and agreement or it can then go to the FOS.

Will keep you all informed of the progress.
Thanks for the advice Di and hope you had a good birthday

    Hi
    Just a quick question
I have made claims against Benefical & Barclays they have both now been passed to the FOS
I may in a few months be in a position to pay these loans off
Do you think this is a wise choice? or should I wait until I have the result of the investigation by the FOS?
    Thanks

won't make any difference to the investigation, but I would inform the FOS
  • Hi there, I just wanted some advice realy as I tried to cancel my loan insurance last year and was told my loan would have to be reworked if I did and a new amount was sent to me, the figures just don't add up here have a look, I called up today and got all the exact figures as well as my account number so that I can have a go at reclaiming them

    Loan 10k
insurance £2115.64 - they advised me that the insuance was added to the loan and interest was added which is included in the figure to the left but totals £466.16

I was told today that my Ins is £43.03 a month

My current repayments are £246 a month and when I asked to cancel the Ins they said it would only come down to £233 which is clearly £13 pm diffrence but they STATE over the phone that I pay £43.03, when I challenged them they said this is how they work it???

I've printed out the reclaim letter to go Monday morning and I'm livid to find out i've been well and truly scammed, when I took the loan out I thought it may help my application if I took out loan Ins and the agent that sold me my loan agreed it would, I've since learnt that this is not the case.
