You are only 3 days after my birthday. Mine was the 27th July. That explains why we are alike in not giving in. Kings of the jungle.... Leo's0 -
hi, can someone help me please,
i've recieved a letter from lloyds tsb today rejecting my complaint for mis-sold ppi, but i'm not sure if it's a final response. the last page reads:
i am sorry that my decision was not more favorable to your complaint. should you wish for the financial ombudsmen to independently review your complaint, you must refer the matter to them within 6 months of the date of this letter.is this a final response? or should i send off a 2nd letter before going to the fos?thanks, james.
Sometimes they like you to give up at this stage but keep fighting.0 -

this is what they sent to my dad - write again asking them to look into your complaint in more detail, I have just drafted another letter to them on behalf of my dad requesting that they provide a final response, I am assuming that they have to state that it is their final response in the letter to you otherwise they could backtrack and say they were still looking into it, you have to give them 8 weeks from when they received your first letter, the 1st letter they send you is a standard fob off, so please write to them again - don't give up! by the way, the first time i claimed on behalf of my dad they (LTSB) sent a standard fob off letter, i sent the 2nd letter and they offered to refund him as a gesture of goodwill.LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad
LTSB PPI for dad - £1800 for dad
Barclays PPI claim for self-£2204
Dads home insurance - reduced by £200 a year "WE DO NOT LIVE IN FLOOD AREA AND I DON'T SEE WHY WE SHOULD PAY FOR THOSE THAT DO - I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR"!0 -

They rang today and did say when i mentioned FOS that i could not go to FOS yet until they had looked into it more and given me another letter. I took that as a stalling thing but maybe they will just pay up ey.... That would be nice.:D0 -

You never know, I couldn't believe it and neither could my dad. You have to give them the full 8 weeks though, that's stated on the FOS website, i don't think it matters how many letters go backwards and forwards, they have to give a final response within 8 weeks before you can go to the FOS. If you contact the FOS before the 8 weeks is up they will just tell you to waite. I have reported Barclays to the FOS at it will be 11 weeks on Fri since they recieved my first letter, they (Barclays) have written to me three times saying they are looking into it, the last letter was dated 3rd Jul saying they couldn't at this time provide me with a final response. I phoned them (Barclays) on Mon and they said they still couldn't and that they had no idea when they would be able to provide one. They sounded a bit shocked when I phoned them the next day and told them that I had reported them. Please be patient as the old saying goes - give them enough rope....LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad

Hi,
We bought a car from Welcome Financial Services in Dec 2001.
The repayments were £269 per mth over 48 mths APR 49% ( I know that's high!)
After 36 mths we part ex the car in Dec 2003 . No payments were missed. We were told we had to take PPI out or we could not have the loan. I have searched my credit record and found the address of the firm but need to know which letter to send first and if any one knows how to calculate what I should be asking for, plus do I add on 8% intrest ?? I hope I have posted in the right forum!0 -
